ION PLESCA

Ion Plesca was born in 1949 in Moldova, country in Eastern Europe. He grew up watching and helping his father and older brothers with fine woodworking, carpentry and woodcraft, being captivated by the creativity a mind can conjure. This is when he started developing a passion for art. At an young age, he moved with his wife to the country's capital, Chisinau to pursue his dreams of learning and practicing art. In 1973, he graduated the Republican School of Fine Arts "I. Repin", and started his career as an artist. The creative force behind his works was to create beautiful masterpieces that could transcend time. He spent most of his career as an artist of the International Exhibition Center MoldExpo of Moldova. His works and exhibition designs were showcased internationally. On December 14, 2006, he was bestowed by the Office the President of Moldova with an Honorary Title "Merited Person". In 2015, Ion moved with his wife to USA. He continues painting in oil, watercolor and acrylic, depicting landscape, scenery and portraits. He also enjoys teaching art to children of various ages in Sunday school.
